Using Google Posts To Drive Traffic

We've mentioned Google Posts a few times in past blogs but haven't really dove into them in detail.

Google Posts is a feature that Google added to the GMB platform a little over a year ago. Basically, it's an opportunity to attach a quick post to your Google listing for when it populates in search results. You are able to access Posts directly from the Google My Business (GMB) dashboard.

Below is what you'll see when you are working on your post. You can post anything from news to an offer or promotion to an event. You'll also be able to add a CTA (Call To Action) button at the bottom of the post. You'll also include a photo as the main piece of content.

Below, you'll see our most recent post. We're promoting our Proof page that includes client testimonials and various works that we've done.

Do Google Posts help with SEO? No, it doesn't seem like they do. Will they attract of a ton of eyeballs? Probably not. But they will attract some eyeballs and you never know how much attention a post will get. Google will give you insights on each post to keep track of how well it's doing.

Overall, it's well worth the 1 to 2 minutes per week to get a post up. If you have questions or would like a free consultation on how to best optimize your Google presence, you can contact us here.
