SBB Asks: What Does The Last Hour Of Your Day Look Like?

You know how they spend the first hour of their day, now let's see how they spend the last hour of their day.

I asked each guest the same five questions and will be posting their answers to each question, one blog at a time. Their answers will be listed in order of appearance. I'll also be adding my answers at the bottom.

The point of this series is to dive into the habits and rituals of local, successful personalities. Each and every guest on South Bend Beat is just that and they are all playing a role in this South Bend resurgence. It's a very Ferriss-ian project. Enjoy!

WHAT DOES THE LAST HOUR YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

MICHAEL YODER

"I unfortunately don't have a great nightly routine. It's something I'm working on. I want to detox from all screen time an hour before I go to bed. At my best, it looks like me winding down and reading a book. But I need to be really honest. This does not happen a lot."

LESLIE PINSON

"Lots of snuggles with my pug Eli, Pure Barre class prep if I'm teaching the next morning or reading one of the 12 books I currently have started."

BIG PERM

"I set my phone alarm for 2:45 AM, 2:50 AM and 3:00 AM. I put it on the edge of my couch by my head. Then I'll turn on Adult Swim or Cartoon Network and watch Bob's Burgers, Family Guy and American Dad until I fall asleep! I do not sleep in my bed during the week, only on the weekend."

ANGELO DICARLO

"I go to bed pretty late so I'm usually listening to a podcast or catching up on a favorite TV show on DVR."

AARON NICHOLS

"Snacking, late night Netflix and catching up on Facebook."

ALASTAIR WILLIS

"On concert weeks, it'll be a reflection on rehearsals plus more study and preparation for the next day's rehearsal or concert. On non-concert weeks, I'm usually reading in bed or catching up on sports highlights via the YouTube app."

MAYOR PETE BUTTGIEG

"I debrief with staff about the day's events and and prepare for the next day's schedule."

CHRIS HAGSTROM-JONES

"Wrapping up game scripts for the next home game and meeting with staff interns to check on completed work. On occasion, I'll get in a 3-mile run."

MARA TRIONFERO

"I'm not very good at routine so it's hard to generalize the end of my day but it usually involves taking care of the dogs, toon blast and surfing the news in bed. And more social media (what Adam Rippon has been up to that day), with lavender oil brewing in the diffuser to help quiet my mind. Never eating. It'd be very rare to find me eating within the last hour of my day."

KYLE O'CONNOR

"It's pretty relaxed, nothing special. I'll watch a rerun or two of Seinfeld, King of Queens or The Office if there aren't any live sports on. Then I let the dog out, lock up and head to bed. I try to be in bed by 1:00 AM."
