Mimmo's Pizza Celebrates Ribbon Cutting

Yesterday was yet another big day for Mimmo's Pizza in Mishawaka.

Blake and staff celebrated their Ribbon Cutting, brought by the South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce, that saw Mishawka Mayor Dave Wood and Chamber President Jeff Rea in attendance.

Mimmo's Pizza, formerly Bruno's Pizza, opened in the same location (Edison Road in Mishawaka) on January 1st of this year. Their authentic Italian pizza, paired with their new and already famous garlic knots, has kept them plenty busy since January.

Owner Blake Schirripa had a few words of encouragement to close the ceremony.

"For the younger generations, don't stop believing in your dreams. Dreams can come true if you put your hard work and faith into it. They will come true."

Schirripa took over the Bruno's location on Edison in 2011 before venturing out on his own with Mimmo's. 'Mimmo' is a nickname for the Italian name Domenico, the name he shares with his father.

The Mimmo's slogan, Mangia, Mangia, translates to Eat, Eat from Italian. And the logo? That's Schirripa, riding an Italian style vespa.

Mayor Dave Wood had a few thoughts on Mimmo's.

"Since their opening, I've been a very regular customer here. In fact, it's become my favorite pizza in the Princess City." He went on. "I'm married to an Italian, so she's a very tough critic. And I can tell you that it is my wife's favorite pizza as well."

You can check out the Mimmo's website and order online here. Additionally, you can follow them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
